Regional transit board becomes reality, Gov. Charlie Crist signed into law legislation creating the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority. The Authority is established to improve mobility and expand multimodal transportation options for passengers and freight within the seven-county region that includes Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus. Hurricanes could turn highway to parking lot, Residents are asked to start mapping out their evacuation routes now.
